Polyvinyl Chloride, Flexible

Flexible PVC, or plasticized PVC, are terms for vinyl compounds that contain and incorporate levels of plasticizer added to achieve a range of hardness from very soft to semi-rigid. The PVC material can be designed to develop a specific set of physical properties such as hardness, tensile strength, modulus, elongation, permanence, low-temperature performance. This versatility allows flexible vinyl products to be used in many different applications such as wire and cable jacketing and insulation, flooring, tiles, handrails, hoses, medical tubing and IV bags, window seals and weather stripping. Flexible PVC is processed by injection molding and extrusion (product dependent).
